Where is everyones fav. place to purchase vino in the ATL? My two favs are Toco Hills Giant. I find that they have a great selection and they have pretty good prices. They are pretty good about posting info about the wines too. The second place is the Farmers Market. Love it. The prices are really good and they have a pretty good selection. I do like Whole Foods on Ponce, but I think their prices are a little more. However, they also have people there who are totally willing to help you pick out something good.

    hi smoochie,

you might try the Ansley Kroger (of all places). this is the only Metro Atlanta Kroger with a full-time wine-manager, and he does a great job. you can often find hard to find wines for much less than anywhere else as well as a huge selection of standard favorites priced well below suggested retail

I buy a lot from Greens on Ponce and Bufford highway. The Ansley wine merchant, in the mall, has good prices and a great "el cheapo but el good-o" section up front. The Sherwoods in Brookhaven (shares space with Cook's Warehouse) has a great selection, not cheap.

BUT you can buy nice cheeses from Cooks Warehouse and they'll pour for you at retail prices. Get a half-dozen or so people together for a private tasting.
